Melanie Belinker is a goldsmith and jewelry artist known for her technique of using strands of human hair for pictorial line-work. In this exhibition, Belinker expands the scale of her work to create a hair-work piece in the form of a tunnel book
Jacintha Clark takes the Mansion's stunning piano as a point of departure. Clark draws from the theme of Victorian music to produce a multi-part installation of ceramic and sound that winds its way through the building.

Beginning in February, the Mansion will offer Spanish tours on select Saturdays, led by our docent, Gabriela Sama. Gabriela was born in Cuba and raised in Spain. She currently is a graduate student in Museum Communications from U Arts, Philadelphia. Tour dates

Hair Art Demo with Melanie Belinker 

Melanie will discuss her modern approach to hair work, while providing historic context. She will demonstrate some traditional Victorian processes used in the remembrance jewelry that first inspired her. Demos will include several forms of palette-work in which hair is glued down to a flat surface to create basket plaits, flowers, swoops or feathers.
