Minnesota Winters Now More Bark Than Bite
So - is this a good thing? There are exceptions to every rule, but MOST Minnesota winters are a pale imitation of what our parents muddled through in the 60s and 70s. It doesn't get down to -25F or -30F in the metro anymore. Now 0F is a big deal and potentially headline-generating. Really? Our winters are no longer (consistently) cold enough for mostly snow. 22 days with rain or glaze ice since November 1 in the MSP metro. The longest January Thaw since 1944. No wonder winter weather lovers are in a funk. A lot of people like the additional warmth. Others lament the loss of something fundamental, part of our Minnesota identity. Kamiak sophomore wins 4 events
Courtesy of: Jen Dumas Simone Dumas-Guzman, a sophomore at Kamiak High School, took first place in her age group in the beam, vault, bars and all-around events at the Washington State Optional Championships March 17-20 in Vancouver. Dumas-Guzman, a Level 8 gymnast, also took third in the floor event and was fourth across all age groups. She was one of eight gymnasts selected to represent Washington at the Region 2 Championships April 7-9 in Boise, Idaho.
Coroner: 13-month-old Ohio girl dies from opioids
