Number of years at SFHS? What grade school did your child(ren) attend?
Mr. and Mrs. Zeman: This is our sixth year at St. Francis. Our first year was 2012 when our oldest son, Tom '16, entered as a freshman after we moved here from Nashville, Tenn. Katie '18 and Julia '20 attended Edison Middle School in Wheaton. Jackson is presently in 4th grade at Whittier Elementary School in Wheaton.
Mr. and Mrs. Glab: This is our first year at St. Francis. Our son, KJ '21, attended All Saints Catholic Academy in Naperville.
2. What activities does your child(ren) participate in at SFHS? As a parent, have you been involved in activities as well?
Mr. and Mrs. Zeman: Tom played Football, Basketball and participated in Blue Crew. Katie participated in JV Cheerleading, Tennis, Track, Ping Pong Club, Math Team, Student Ambassador Leadership Team (SALT), National Honor Society (NHS), and Marion Park Tutoring. Julia enjoys Soccer, Ping Pong Club, and Marion Park Tutoring. As parents, we've been involved in the sports our children have played in as well as Mother's Club and Father's Club. We like to help out with other committees when we can, like the auction committee and senior celebration. And, of course, we love attending many St. Francis "friend-raiser" events, such as Wine Tasting, Fight Night, Fashion Show, and the spring Auction.
Mr. and Mrs. Glab: KJ was on the Sophomore Golf Team and participates in Intramural Volleyball and Ping Pong Club. Our whole family enjoyed attending football games in the fall. I attended several Mother's Club events and also helped at a faculty luncheon.
3. Why did you choose SFHS for your child(ren)?
Mr. and Mrs. Zeman: When our oldest Tom toured St. Francis, he felt very comfortable. We knew we wanted him to attend a Catholic high school, and we looked at multiple schools. The St. Francis atmosphere and community feel stood out and made it the obvious choice. Our daughter Katie initially wanted to attend Wheaton Warrenville South because all of her (newly made) friends from Edison Middle School were going there. We wanted her to attend SFHS but were reluctant to force her because we'd recently moved her from Nashville, Tenn. (She was entering 7th grade.) Whereas she had a fine experience her freshman year, she decided that St. Francis was a better fit for her because it "felt like family." She transferred to St. Francis sophomore year and was warmly welcomed. Julia knew from the start she wanted to…
