SHEFFIELD LAKE — City Council approved an ordinance Tuesday that sets in motion regulation of gravel driveways and gravel-driveway additions. The legislation was amended Tuesday and language, which would have banned parking of vehicles in backyards, was removed. The city will only enforce parking regulations in front and side yards. For more than a year, City Council and the Ordinance Committee considered the legislation and how to move forward with it. After a 2013 parking ban many residents of the city known for narrow streets and small driveways took to placing small gravel additions next to existing driveways in order to park extra vehicles.
