The Standing Rock Sioux Tribe won a significant victory today in its fight to protect the Tribe’s drinking water and ancestral lands from the Dakota Access pipeline. A federal judge ruled that the federal permits authorizing the pipeline to cross the Missouri River just upstream of the Standing Rock reservation, which were hastily issued by the Trump administration just days after the inauguration, violated the law in certain critical respects.

A’s take tarps off; upper deck tickets $15 New A’s team president Dave Kaval continues to make moves popular with the fanbase, and on Tuesday, he took action on a longstanding fan complaint. Kaval announced on Facebook Live that the team was in the process of removing the third-deck tarps at the Coliseum on Tuesday. “Because the fans have spoken, the tarps are coming off!” he said via video while uncovering a row of seats. Kaval said that tickets in the third deck will be $15 for the remainder of the season, and on the next homestand, half the proceeds will go to Oakland Promise, which enables Oakland students to attend college.
