Family confirm Laura Pace’s body was recovered just after 7 p.m. after a days long search for her across Skiatook. Laura Pace was last seen leaving the Skiatook Walmart Thursday around 1 a.m. The next day, her car was found near North 52nd West Avenue by the Hominy Creek bridge. After days of searching on land, in the water and by drone and helicopter, kayakers found a body three to four miles downstream around 5:30 Sunday night. “Kayakers, part of the volunteer search team, reported they had possibly a located a female in the water,” said Osage County Sheriff Eddie Virden.…

SUNBURY – A Snyder County man is jailed and another man is in critical condition after a fight in Sunbury early Sunday morning. According to The Daily Item, the incident occurred just after 4 a.m. along South Third Street. They say 36-year-old Jay Boyer of Middleburg was involved in a fight with another man, Brian Cox. The Daily Item reports, the two men were first seen inside a social club on Third Street, then seen outside the club. That’s when video shows Boyer strike Cox in the face and head. Police say they then found Cox unresponsive on the ground; he’s said to be in critical condition at Geisinger.

It was simply high winds, but not a tornado, that caused heavy damage near RB Winter State Park in the Mifflinburg region Union County EMA Coordinator Michelle Dietrich provided that update to WKOK. She says National Weather Service officials classified the winds as a ‘downburst’ with winds about 80 mph Dietrich says weather service officials did not indicate tornadic activity based on radar and pictures submitted by the county. Man from Ellis hospitalized after motorcycle strikes deer
NORTON COUNTY — Two people were injured in an accident just before 11p.m. Friday in Norton County. The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 1980 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Michael D. Gaschler, 55, Ellis, was eastbound on U.S. 283 seventeen miles south of Norton. The motorcycle struck a deer standing in the road. Gaschler and a passenger Barbara Root, 54, Lyons, were transported to the hospital in Norton. They were not wearing helmets, according to the KHP.
