The free exhibit, "Abraham Lincoln: A Man of His Time, a Man for All Times," traces Lincoln's path from a self-educated lawyer with no administrative experience to a president who guided a divided nation through the crises of slavery, secession and the Civil War. It tells the story through Lincoln's own words in speeches, letters and proclamations. The exhibit was donated to the Waukegan Historical Society by the Gilder Lehman Institute of American History.
