TriSumter starts with a 300 yard pool swim in the outdoor heated pool at the City of Sumter Aquatics Center. It will be a stagger start with one person starting every ve seconds. There will be a 17 mile bike course and a 5K running course that will travel throughout the Sumter area. All of the events will start and end at the City of Sumter Aquatics Center. The idea for the garage was born alongside plans for the Hyatt Place Hotel. When the hotel decided in 2016 to invest in Downtown Sumter, part of that agreement was that the city would build a parking garage. The garage was funded using tax increment financing dollars and built by the same construction company that was building the hotel so as not to get in each other's way.
