OTTAWA COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Right now the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a pedestrian is hit and killed by a car overnight. It happened just before midnight on US-31 near Taylor Street in Olive Township. Dispatchers confirm to Newschannel 3, the man was walking along the road when he was struck by a car. He was killed. It's unclear exactly what happened or whether charges will be filed against the driver.

WASHINGTON (WJLA) — A two-headed copperhead snake was found in a backyard in Woodbridge, Virginia, according to Virginia Wildlife Management and Control. The pictures of the creature were posted on the company's Facebook page earlier this week. According to National Geographic, two-headed snakes are rare and typically develop the same way as Siamese twins. A developing embryo begins to split into twins but stops part way. Survival rates for two-headed snakes can vary.

Four people from West Michigan are now in custody following the investigation of a scheme to abduct, rape and murder a young child, the Michigan Attorney General’s office said today. David Bailey, 37, of Coldwater, formerly of Kalamazoo, Matthew Toole, 32, of Battle Creek, Talia Furman, 32, of Springfield, and Jayme LaPointe, 19, of Athens, were all apprehended by the Michigan State Police. WILMINGTON, N. C. (AP) — A new round of evacuations was ordered in South Carolina as the trillions of gallons of water dumped by Hurricane Florence meanders to the sea, raising river levels and threatening more destruction. With the crisis slowly moving to South Carolina, emergency managers on Friday ordered about 500 people to flee homes along the Lynches River. The National Weather Service said the river could reach record flood levels late Saturday or early Sunday, and shelters are open.

Michigan plans to allow medical marijuana patients and their doctors to complete registrations online. The Detroit News reports the change is scheduled to start by Oct. 8. Andrew Brisbo, director of the Bureau of Medical Marijuana Regulation , said it's likely to make the registration and renewal process easier and quicker for many medical marijuana patients and doctors who have so far relied on paper forms. Brisbo said the bureau will maintain its paper process for those who prefer it.

Syracuse Police are on the scene of a shooting incident where five people have suffered from gunshot wounds. According to police, officers responded to the 1300 block of Midland Avenue in regards to a shooting call around 9:02 p. m. There were several calls to the 911 center reporting that more than one person was possibly injured, police said. When officers arrived, they saw a large crowd of people and located several injured people suffering from apparent gunshot wound.
