“I am unique! I am Latina!” event empowers young Latina women
On Saturday, May 18 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Roberts Wesleyan College will proudly host the ¡Soy Unica! ¡Soy Latina! (SUSL) rally, an event that empowers young Latina women, encouraging them to develop self-confidence and celebrate their heritage. The event is open to young Latinas ages seven to 18, however, participants 13 or younger must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or authorized adult.

The Good News recently caught up with David Dunn, Director of the Howard Stowe Roberts Cultural Life Center and Conferences, to gain insight into the increased attendance at CLC events. Dunn attributes the 20% increase (over last year) in attendance to the quality of the shows and the artists booked, as well as "experiences enabled by the best technicians for lighting, sound, and video that go beyond industry standards."

City of Clinton E-Update
The city of Clinton’s annual spring cleanup begins April 6 and will continue through April 13 (except Sunday)
During the cleanup period, the City of Clinton will have dumpsters available for residents at the old Northside Elementary School location at 1111 Old Vicksburg Road.
City workers will be present to receive trash each day between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. The site will be closed on Sundays.

The class will be from 1800 (6 pm) - 2100 (9 pm) Monday through Thursday, Ride Alongs on Friday (Time scheduled individually by each participant), and 0800 (8 am) - 1400 (2 pm) on Saturday.
The Citizen's Police Academy is designed to give participants an in-depth look at how Clinton Police operate.
The course is open to anyone 18 & older and requires a background check by the department.
